Comfort in Psalm 61

I was reading today and I came across Psalm 61.  I found it to be encouraging and thought that others might enjoy it as well.

Hear my cry, O God,listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to you
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.

Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
May he be enthroned forever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!

So will I ever sing praises to your name,
as I perform my vows day after day.

Girl time.

 Ah a gathering of a gaggle of girls.
   Today I enjoyed the company of my two sisters-in-law and another female friend.  Not to mention my two daughters (just a baby and toddler but female none the less)  and as a stay-at-home mom it was refreshing.  Oh the mischief and OH the giggling!  Now why is that? Why is it, that when a group of gals get together we giggle like a...well, like a bunch of school girls?

  No nothing was accomplished, just the drinking of hot beverages and the consumption of food, but still, it did feel productive.  I guess spending time with a group of people whom you feel comfortable around and sharing a good laugh...even if occasionally it is at the expense of others....sorry Steph...:), is still an acceptable way to spend a day.

  In this day and age of go, go, go and "time means money", one must stop and smell the roses.  For though many would consider the day wasted it was not.  For the bible says;

 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil - this is God's gift to man.  Ecclesiastes 3:12-13God gives us good things and we are to enjoy them.  Today I was blessed with the gift of 'good' friends and I thank God for them.  Amen.

Good Day.

Good day to you.  The sun is shining - finally - it feels like it has been days since I saw it last.   Ah, looking out the window it looks like late March, not late January...and oh how I yearn for Spring.  But "patience is a virtue"  and upon that thought I looked up patience in the bible  and I discovered this passage:

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Ecclesiastes 7:8

How true; the end of winter is much better then the beginning and truly the end of spring is much lovelier and less muddy then the beginning.  Such encouragement when I wasn't even looking.  Really I just sat down to write this post and the thought of longing for Spring came to me.  Looking up patience to discover this passages has renewed me.

I wan't sure where I was going when I sat down to write (rarely do I ever know where I'm going) but God has lead me and hopefully it will bring encouagement and renewal to you all as well.

Now with this all said and done I think I shall look out my window and enjoy winter and the coming of it's end.

 Good day to you all indeed!
